Neonatal Intensive Care is my professional and research interest. I have been involved in this field of medicine full-time since 1967.
My clinical interests center around care of the critically ill preterm infant with respiratory distress. I have published over 80 articles and book chapters on various neonatal topics, including pulmonary function, metabolism, and research ethics.
Currently I am pursuing research in the response of newborn infants to various types of respiratory care. During my career I have been awarded a Research Career Development Award by the National Institute of Child Health and Development, a Travelling Fellowship of the Royal Society of Medicine (UK), and grants from the New York Lung Association.
