Dr Bardes practices general internal medicine. He also teaches extensively at Weill Cornell Medical College, where he directs the Medicine Clerkship and serves as Dean of Admissions. Special interests include primary care and preventive care, emphasizing a unified approach to the whole person. He is the author of Essential Skills in Clinical Medicine, as well as articles related to medical education. Excerpts from The Double Serpent: Subtexts in Medicine were published in the journal Agni in 2006, and an upcoming book related to Anemia and its cultural contexts will be published by Bellevue Literary Press in 2008.
Dr Bardes graduated laude from Princeton University (summa cum laude) and from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha and the American College of Physicians, and is also a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. He has won numerous awards for teaching and clinical care.
