Dr. Birndorf received her undergraduate degree from Smith College and medical degree from Brown University. She did her residency in Psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, serving as Chief Resident her senior year. For the past three years, Dr. Birndorf has been an Attending Psychiatrist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation in Chicago, IL. She has also been the Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Birndorf's clinical work is primarily in the area of women's mental health with a focus on perinatal consultation and treatment. She is the Director of the new Women's Health Program in the Department of Pyschiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital.
