Dr. Maltz has a MD from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph. D. (physical chemistry) from Harvard University. He has published in both basic science as well as medical literature. He is director of the inpatient gastroenterology/hepatology service at the Hospital and has a major role in the training of medical residents and GI fellows.
