As a researcher, Dr. Coleman has had over 30 years of continuous funding from the NIH, holds 13 patents for inventions, and has published over 200 papers, 300 abstracts, 60 book chapters and two books. Dr. Coleman's current research interests are largely centered on the imaging and diagnosing diseases of the eye using ultrasound and photoacoustics, delivery of drugs to the retina using ultrasound, and new techniques for prolonging and preserving sight through maintenance of the retinal pigment epithelium.
