"Infertility is a life crisis that strikes at the very core of the individual and couple experiencing it. One of the most difficult aspects of infertility for many patients is the loss of control they feel. Psychological counseling and stress management techniques can help patients get support and feel more empowered as they develop the coping skills to decrease their anxiety, increase their sense of control, and restore a feeling of hope for the future."
Dr. Grill is experienced as a counseling psychologist and medical researcher with a special focus on the emotional aspects of infertility, IVF treatment, cancer related infertility, and sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Grill provides individual, couples, and group therapy for patients participating in all forms of assisted reproduction. She also has significant experience in all aspects of oocyte donation, including donor and recipient evaluation and treatment issues.
Patients who are at risk for cancer-related infertility may feel an even greater impact of a cancer diagnosis. Dr. Grill provides comprehensive reproductive counseling prior to undergoing cancer treatment to help patients cope better as they explore their fertility preservation options, and gain a better understanding of the latest advances in reproductive medicine.
Dr. Grill?s practice also concentrates on the treatment of sexual problems of men, women, and couples. The ability to reproduce is intimately tied to sexuality and self-image. Sexual problems can occur before, during, and after infertility treatment and sometimes may even cause infertility. Attention and education regarding sexual difficulties during infertility treatment can minimize the impact and even prevent many of the sexual difficulties individuals and couples encounter during and after treatment.
