Dr. Elaine Schattner has been a member of the medical school faculty since 1993. She earned early recognition for her work and publications in the areas lymphocyte biology, lymphoma, chronic leukemia and immune blood disorders such as ITP.
Dr. Schattner is board-certified in both hematology and medical oncology. She is a Diplomat of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Hematology. Based on her expertise and clinical care, Dr. Schattner has been selected as one of "America's Top Physicians" by the Consumers' Research Council of America.
Dr. Schattner's current practice includes patients with lymphoma, leukemia, anemia, thrombocytopenia and other blood disorders. Dr. Schattner emphasizes communication with patients, such that her patients can best understand the nature of their conditions and treatment options, including conservative, standard and novel therapies.
