Dr. Wernicke's clinical and research interests include women's health issues in the areas of Breast Cancer (including Partial Breast Irradiation techniques, Sparing Normal Tissues such as heart and lung from radiation toxicity, and Improving Cosmetic Results) and Gynecological Malignancies (in particular, studying Sexual Dysfunction in women treated with radiotherapy). Her clinical and academic achievements point to Genitourinary Cancers (she has conducted an award winning research in minimizing Erectile Dysfunction in men with Prostate Cancer undergoing radiation) as well as Tumors of the Central Nervous System.
