Sylvestre, Georges
(212) 746-1604 (212) 746-8541
After 10 years of medical and residency training at McGill University, I spent seven years at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx) and at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (Queens). These institutions serve patient populations at very high risk for pregnancy complications. Almost daily, I was managing pregnancies complicated by pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, preterm labor, diabetes, HIV, substance abuse, heart disease, or fetal anomalies. These years allowed me to gain a solid clinical expertise. I am currently involved in the writing of a textbook in Obstetrics, which will be published in the coming year.
Although I have an expertise in High-Risk pregnancies, I also enjoy caring for patients with uncomplicated pregnancies and for non-pregnancy related gynecologic conditions.
"Is it okay to take an antacid during pregnancy? Can I exercise? What about coffee? I had chemotherapy three years ago, can I get pregnant?"
I believe that patients should be well-informed and should have all their questions answered. The books on pregnancy and magazines do not answer all questions, so whenever there is a concern, patients are welcome to call me or email me directly at georgessylvestre@aol.com.
