Howard Israel is a 1977 graduate of Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He completed a General Practice Residency at St. Luke's Hospital Center in June 1978 and received his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at East Orange Veteran's Administration Medical Center from July 1978 through June 1981, and achieved Certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1985. Dr. Israel has been on the faculty of the Division of Oral Surgery at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery since 1981, rising to the position of Professor of Clinical Dentistry. He has a clinical practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery specializing in temporomandibular arthroscopic surgery and diagnosis and management of head, facial and oral chronic pain.
