John A. Carucci M.D., Ph.D. is the Director of Mohs Micrographic and Dermatologic Surgery at Cornell University. After simultaneously completing both M.D. and Ph.D. studies at the State University of New York-Health Science Center at Brooklyn, Dr. Carucci completed training in Internal Medicine at Yale University and in Dermatology at New York University?s Skin & Cancer Unit. Dr. Carucci went on to complete a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic and Advanced Dermatologic Surgery at Yale that included extensive training in Mohs? surgery, reconstructive surgery, and laser surgery.
Dr. Carucci is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology, and an Associate of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative, a group dedicated to improving management of organ transplant recipients with skin cancer.
Dr. Carucci is an expert in the use of laser surgery for treatment of vascular lesions, including broken blood vessels, benign pigmented lesions known as lentigines, enhancement of skin tone, removal of unwanted hair, and rejuvenation of sun damaged skin.
Dr. Carucci is the author of numerous publications on topics ranging from skin cancer to facial rejuvenation and continues to lecture nationally. He has been featured as an expert in skin cancer and laser surgery in the popular press in Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire as well as on television on Good Day New York.
In addition to skin cancer surgery and laser surgery, Dr. Carucci also offers other procedures including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, Restylane, collagen and Botox treatments, and treatment of leg veins.
