An Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Dr. Roberts received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the New School University (formerly New School for Social Research). Dr. Roberts is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of Acute and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. She has worked with the Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Studies (formerly the Accident and Injury Recovery Program) since 1998, both in clinical and research positions. Her work with burn victims and World Trade Center survivors has provided material for numerous publications.

Dr. Roberts is also a graduate of the NYU International Traumatic Stress Studies Program, and has practiced community inverventions after mass trauma as the organizer for the World Trade Center Community Outreach art therapy groups and bereaved widows support groups. Dr. Roberts also received the NYC Firefighters Foundation award for her clinical work after September 11th, 2001. Her research interests include the prevention of PTSD following burn injury, as well as utilzing innovative virtual reality techniques for the treatment of phobias. Most recently, Dr. Roberts worked with Disaster Psychiatry Outreach participating in a training mission for counselors in Tsunami damaged Northern Sri Lanka.
