Each patient is given a comprehensive neurologic exam, which includes taking the patients medical history and analyzing current life-style patterns to access risk factors associated with stroke. After analyzing and interpreting a patients medical history and current life-style patterns the stroke center may perform more ancillary tests to get a clearer medical profile of each patient. The tests may include blood work, ECGs, EEGs and the use of ultramodern procedures, such as Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography, which is used to identify atheroma or blood clots traveling to the brain.
