Loretta Malta, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and Instructor of Psychology in Psychiatry who joined the Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Studies at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2005. She received her Ph.D. in 2004 at the University at Albany, SUNY. She interned at the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and New England Medical Center and completed postdoctoral training at the NYU School of Medicine Institute for Trauma and Stress. Her research interests include posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and stress-related problems such as aggressive driving.
Dr. Malta?s clinical specialty is cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) of PTSD and traumatic stress reactions, and she has treated survivors of a variety of traumas including motor vehicle accidents, childhood physical or sexual abuse, combat exposure, and the World Trade Center terrorist attack. Other areas of expertise include CBT for depression, anxiety, anger problems, aggressive driving, and stress-related health problems.
