The Memory Disorders Program is an outpatient clinical service within the Department of Neurology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. Our Program has special expertise in evaluating and treating age-related brain disorders that affect cognition and behavior, such as Alzheimer's disease, Dementia with Lewy bodies, Vascular dementia, Dementia in Parkinson's disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Progressive Aphasia & Adult Hydrocephalus.

Evaluations typically include a neurologic examination, assessment of memory and other thinking abilities (neuropsychological testing) as well as brain imaging and other diagnostic tests if needed. In most cases, initial assessments can be completed in one to three visits. Social work consultations and Alzheimer-related genetic counseling are also available.

Our staff has extensive experience managing the full spectrum of behavioral problems that can accompany degenerative brain disorders. We provide valuable resources for patients, families, and caregivers. We have a network of support services to assist with management & planning, education, psychological support, and cognitive rehabilitation.

The Memory Disorders Program can also provide qualified individuals with access to clinical studies of investigational medications for dementia.
