Dr.Gambarin-Gelwan received her undergraduate degree from New York University and medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her Gastroenterology and Nutrition Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Advanced Hepatology Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital as a Chief Fellow. She is a recipient of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Advanced Hepatology Fellowship Award in 2004. She is Board Certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. Her clinical interests focus around evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic liver disease, including hepatitis B and hepatitis C, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma. She is associated with the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C. Her other areas of specialty are colorectal cancer screening, gastrointestinal malignancies, and endoscopy.
