Spigland, Nitsana A.
Dr. Spigland is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Spigland also served as the Acting Chief of the Division of Pediatric Surgery of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University between July 1997- July 2000. She is also the Associate Director of medical student education for the Department of Surgery at Cornell. Dr. Spigland is board certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Spigland has a strong interest in clinical pediatric surgical research and has authored or co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is a reviewer for the American Journal of Perinatology.
Dr. Spigland performs the full spectrum of pediatric surgical procedures and has maintained a very busy clinical practice in pediatric surgery over the past 11 years. Her particular areas of interest include neonatal congenital anomalies, pediatric thoracic surgery and pediatric surgical oncology. Dr. Spigland is a fellow of American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Associations, the Canadian Pediatric Surgical Association, the New York Surgical Society and the Children's Cancer Study Group.
