Dr. Chan received an NIH K30 Clinical Research Curriculum Award from Weill Cornell Medical College and conducts his research in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), Pediatric Retina, and ocular imaging and ultrasound. Dr. Chan works closely with Dr. D. Jackson Coleman and Dr. Ronald H. Silverman in the Bioacoustic Research Facility of the Dyson Vision Research Center. Dr. Chan also has multiple collaborative research projects with Dr. Thomas C. Lee from Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, and Dr. Michael F. Chiang from Harkness Eye Institute, Columbia University. Together they conduct research looking at the pathogenesis and management of ROP, including the role that telemedicine may have in managing retinopathy of prematurity.
