Dr. Sigal received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and medical degree from the University of Chicago. He trained in pathology at the University of Pennsylvania, internal medicine at St. Luke's Hospital, gastroenterology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and hepatology at Mt. Sinai. He was the recipient of the Veronico Volk Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, American-Liver Foundation Award. The majority of his clinical care efforts focus on evaluating and managing patients with complication of cirrhosis, liver transplant candidates, and treatment of viral hepatitis, and he attends on the liver transplant program at Columbia Presbyterian. Dr. Sigal's research interest include hepatic encephalopathy, portal hypertension, and treatment of chronic hepatitis C with cirrhosis.
