Dr. Lee is one of the nation's leading experts in laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery. He has performed more than 600 laparoscopic colon and rectal surgeries. Dr. Lee has been invited to served as a faculty member for laparoscopic colon surgery courses at numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Lee currently serves as the director of laparoscopic colon surgery course at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Lee graduated from Johns Hopkins University and then New York University School of Medicine in 1993. He did his general surgery residency at Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Surgical Services in Boston. Dr. Lee then completed specialty training in laparoscopic surgery and colon and rectal surgery at New York Presbyterian Hosptial, Weill Medical college of Cornell University and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University.
Dr. Lee has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and authored many book chapters. He is the editor of Laparoscopic Colon Surgery: Learn from the Experts DVD series which outlines techniques of laparoscopic colon surgery for other surgeons. He has been invited to give lectures at numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Lee has won many research and presentation awards. He is a reviewer for Surgical Endoscopy, Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, and World Journal of Surgery. Dr. Lee also serves on various committees for American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
