Dr. Ely's practice in hematopathology mainly involves the diagnosis of and prognostication for multiple myeloma (MM), lymphoma and leukemias. His research has been in the areas of B cell lymphomas and plasma cell neoplasms (MM and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance [MGUS]). Dr. Ely is co-director of the immunopathology core for the Specialized Center of Research for Multiple Myeloma. As such, his main research focus is the development of assays using cell cycle analysis for prognostication in multiple myeloma.
