Dr. Syed Hoda is an accomplished surgical pathologist with special expertise in diagnostic breast pathology. Dr. Hoda received his anatomic and clinical (laboratory medicine) pathology residency training at Tulane University Medical Center (under Dr. Richard J. Reed) in New Orleans. He subsequently completed a year of cytopathology fellowship training (under Dr. Myron Melamed and Dr. Stephen Hajdu) as well as a year of oncological surgical pathology fellowship training (under Dr. Juan Rosai) at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Hoda worked closely with Dr. Paul P. Rosen during his two years of fellowship training, and this close working relationship continues to date.
Dr. Hoda has been active in the multidisciplinary breast tumor management team in our Medical Center since 1992. He has contributed over 100 publications to the scientific literature- several of which deal with breast tumors. Dr. Hoda has been on the regional and national pathology lecture circuit for many years. He has also been directing popular courses at the national meetings of the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the US & Canadian Academy ofPathologists for several years.
