Dr. Shin received her MD from Albany Medical College and trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at NYPH-Cornell campus. Her training included a one-year breast pathology fellowship with Dr. Paul Peter Rosen and a year investigating molecular alterations in breast disease in the molecular pathology laboratory of Dr. Daniel M. Knowles. Upon the completion of her training, Dr. Shin joined the faculty in 2001 and currently spends her time as a surgical pathologist with a focus on breast disease. Dr. Shin is also a consultant for the breast pathology consultation service directed by Dr. Paul Peter Rosen. Dr. Shin has contributed more than 25 scientific articles including a co-authored chapter in Diagnostic Immunohistochemistry (first and second editions). She has also been the recipient of several awards.
