Dr. Markowitz specializes in treating patients with arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) and provides care in all aspects clinical electrophysiology. This includes the evaluation of patients with the following conditions:

1. Supraventricular arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, atrial tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, and Wolff Parkinson White syndrome

2. Ventricular arrhythmias such as ventricular ectopy (PVCs), ventricular tachycardia, and ventricular fibrillation

3. Syncope (fainting)

4. Palpitations

5. Patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, such as those with structural heart disease and those with a high-risk congenital condition (e.g., long QT syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Brugada syndrome, etc.)

6. Patients with structural heart disease and refractory congestive heart failure

Dr. Markowitz performs the following procedures for management of patients suffering from any of the above conditions:

1. Diagnostic electrophysiologic testing

2. Radiofrequency and cryoablation ablation for all types of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias

3. Implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices, and loop recorders

4. Laser lead extraction of pacemaker and defibrillator leads

5. Electrical cardioversion

6. Tilt table testing
