Dr. Evans is Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Evans received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the New School for Social Research. She is Interim Vice Chair and Director of Psychology in Psychiatry and is President of the Payne Whitney Faculty Council. Her clinical expertise is in cognitive therapy. She received her cognitive therapy training and certification at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research and she is a founding fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) used for chronic and treatment resistant depression. Dr. Evans completed an internship in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBSR aims to promote mind-body health and well-being. She is currently conducting MBSR groups and research at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
